WHAT IS HEADACHE PHYSIO?
Headaches and migraines can be debilitating, painful and sometimes difficult to understand. Our Physiotherapists have undertaken further training and education on these conditions, to allow them to better understand the condition and how to treat it.
Our method of treatment is different to standard Physiotherapy treatment, as we use a particular style of Physiotherapy treatment called the Watson method. This method suggests that all types of headache (including tension type headache, classic and common migraine, menstrual migraine and even cluster headache) have a common link. This link is a sensitivity in part of the brain stem called the Trigemino-Cervical Nucleus, which can be caused by neck problems.
The implications of this mean that even if the trigger of your headache is something unrelated to your neck, the fact that the neck may have made that nucleus sensitive is the key to unlocking your Headaches! A skilled assessment by Headache Practitioners at Move Physiotherapy can determine if this is part of your headache problem and they can put together a targeted treatment programme for you.
